On Monday, June 7, the Tulsa Board of Education approved revisions to the district’s COVID-19 mask policy and safety guidance.
“Tulsans have done their part to help minimize community spread,” said Chief Operations and Finance Officer Jorge Robles. “Based on our continued work with public health and medical professionals and on the most recent CDC guidance, masks will no longer be required for fully vaccinated adults and students.”
The change means that all team members and students who have completed both vaccination shots will not be required to wear masks indoors or outdoors. The district recommends and encourages students and team members who have not been fully vaccinated to continue to wear masks indoors at all times and outdoors when around other people.
Tulsans ages 12 and older can make a vaccination appointment through the Oklahoma State Department of Health or through one of the district’s community partners.
