Felicitas Mendez International School hosted their annual fry bread event for Native American Heritage Month. Librarian Jessica Samaroo, her grandmother Ollie Star, and mother DeeAnn McHenry made fry bread for every student and prepared lunch for the Mendez team.
This year, Cherokee Nation council member Ashley Grant and three Booker T. Washington High School students (and Mendez alumni!) stopped by to help as well. Booker T. senior Audrey Gray did a hoop dancing demonstration for the kids, garnering many oohs and awes from the group.
