Chloe Gann, McLain High School
Chloe is the valedictorian and plans to continue her education at the University of Tulsa studying nursing.
Jackson Ryan, Edison Preparatory
Jackson's mother, Misti Ryan, said: "Jackson was born four months early, weighing just 1 pound, 6 ounces. He has attended Tulsa Public Schools since pre-K, first at Kendall Whittier and Mayo and then Thoreau and Edison. He needed additional support throughout the years, starting with speech therapy from Holly Soho at Kendall Whittier, to vision support with Julie Lockhart from elementary through high school so that he had the resources he needed to be successful and overcome his low vision. We’ve participated in many IEP meetings over the years. We’ve shed happy tears with teachers, counselors, and principals who watched our son work hard to keep up with his peers; the staff members were just as proud as we were to see all of the progress he made. He also participated in marching band from 8th grade to 12th grade. It was the perfect place for him to fit in, make friends, and be a part of something. Next year, he will attend Tulsa Community College and begin his studies in pre-human services/social work."
Marques Smith, Central High School
Marques's mother, Christina Ratliff, said: "Marques won the basketball academic player of the year award and was one of the Tyler Lockett Light It Up Foundation" job shadowing and scholarship recipients this year! He began at Booker T. Washington High School where he played varsity basketball and finished his high school career at Central High School where was captain and starter on the varsity basketball team. Marques plans to attend college in Houston, Texas."
