Last week was full of tears, hugs, and laughter as a group of Tulsa Public Schools seniors were surprised with full ride scholarships to the University of Tulsa.

 

Madison Green, University of Tulsa Admissions Counselor, and Krystal Hutchinson, Tulsa Public Schools Director of Post-Secondary Readiness, visited six different schools to present the scholarships to the students. They teamed up with the students’ counselors, mentors, coaches, and teachers to make sure the visits were a complete surprise.

 

 

To be eligible for the scholarships, these high-performing students were first nominated by their school. An admissibility check was then performed on those nominees by the University of Tulsa to make the decisions final.
