Tulsa Public Schools hosted its annual esports tournament, a significant event that brought students from around the district together to showcase their skills and knowledge in various video games. Esports gives students an opportunity to develop sportsmanship, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills just as traditional sports do. It also fosters a sense of community and belonging, allowing students to build relationships while playing something they love.
Scout Ewing from Carver Middle School was the Rocket League champion, maintaining his status as champion from last year. Kyron Jefferson from East Central Middle School, a newcomer to the eSports program, emerged as the Smash Bros. champion.
High School SMASH Bros Champion Christian Escobar from Booker T. Washington High School and Rocket League Champion Mr. Richard Tolon from Will Rogers High School showcased their exceptional skills. We are incredibly proud of their achievements.
Thank you to all the players and coaches for attending our esports tournament! Your passion and sportsmanship made the event truly special.
