Tulsa Community College hosted 90 Tulsa Public Schools sophomores for its first Manufacturing Day. Over two days, students engaged in hands-on engineering and manufacturing activities, including soldering circuit boards and building solar-powered cars from kits. This event was made possible through the Strengthening Community Colleges grant.
Manufacturing Day provides students with a firsthand look at the skills needed for careers in engineering and manufacturing. It also introduces them to Tulsa Community College's dual credit programs, which allows high school students to pursue an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in engineering technology while earning seven national manufacturing certifications over the course of six semesters.
