Superintendent Deborah Gist celebrated Read Across America Day by reading to students at Marshall Elementary and Mayo Demonstration School.

First grade students at Marshall and second grade students at Mayo gathered in the library at their schools to hear Ambitious Girl. As she read, Superintendent Gist talked to students about the meaning of ambition and the importance of being true to themselves. Students joined in an excited chorus of "This is me!" as they read along to the book.
