Ten students are named as finalists for the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. The organization is recognizing one student from Edison Preparatory High School and nine students from Booker T. Washington High School. 

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation aims to "recognize and honor academically talented students" and to “promote a wider and deeper respect for learning.” National Merit semifinalists make up less than 1% of seniors across the country.
