Nine students from Booker T. Washington High School and one student from Edison Preparatory High School were named as semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. The program aims to "recognize and honor academically talented students." National Merit semifinalists make up less than 1% of seniors across the country.
The students from Booker T. Washington High School are in the photo above and include:

- Kaden Short
- Carson Thorp
- Jack Whitney
David Tan, pictured below, is the semifinalist from Edison Preparatory High School.
