During its regular meeting on Monday, March 6, the Tulsa Board of Education voted to re-open the application for appointment to represent Board District 2. The Board will accept applications until 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8. Residents of District 2 can find information about eligibility for board service and complete the application online at www.tulsaschools.org/board. 

Board President Stacey Woolley said: “We have met some wonderful candidates, and I am grateful for the time and energy that so many District 2 residents have put into this process. Based on the feedback of some of my colleagues on the board, we are going to provide an opportunity for any other interested District 2 residents to apply.”

To date, the Board of Education has received applications from, has completed interviews with, and is still considering the following individuals: Weslie Alexander, Paul Hall, Diamond Marshall, Kevin Pearson, Jasmine Stewart, and KanDee Washington. 

“We have heard clearly from the constituents of District 2 that they want the board to move quickly to appoint a qualified individual to represent their interests, and I look forward to working with the rest of the board to get that new board member seated on the evening of March 20 at our next regularly scheduled board meeting,” said Woolley. 

Paper applications will be available for pick-up at the Education Service Center from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7 starting at 8 a.m. The online application will close at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8. Paper applications must be hand-delivered to the front-desk of the Education Service Center not later than 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8. 

Eligible applicants may be invited to participate in an interview during the evening of Thursday, March 9. Spanish interpretation will be provided.
