Tulsa Public Schools tracks two different types of grant proposals: Federal Programs Grants and Special Projects Grants

Both types of grants follow this process:

Donors Choose and Benevity Grants do not need to be tracked through this process. Reach out to Director of Special Projects BEFORE speaking with any philanthropic donor to solicit a donation or apply for a grant.

  1. Applicant discusses funding opportunity with supervisor and obtains approval to apply
  2. Applicant submits completed intent to apply form with a copy of the grant application packet/link to the Federal Programs office at least 45 days before the grant deadline
  3. The Assistant Director for Grant Compliance will review the form for allowability and will forward to either the Director of Federal Programs or Director of Special Projects
  4. Applicant consults with the assigned Director during the writing of a draft of the grant application, budget, and narrative. The Assistant Director for Grant Compliance may also provide support as needed
  5. Applicant submits final grant to the Assistant Director for Grant Compliance for review at least 10 working days before the grant deadline. They will review the narrative and budget and receive approval from necessary parties
  6. Applicant will submit the grant (There are some cases where Federal Programs or Special Projects will need to submit)
  7. Applicant will notify the Assistant Director of Grant Compliance when the grant is awarded or denied
  8. If awarded, Grantee completes all required programmatic reports and requisitions in a timely manner
