On Wednesday, students from several Tulsa Public Schools elementary schools gathered at the Guthrie Green to celebrate Bike Club with an end-of-year rally.
The students had the opportunity to watch an BMX demonstration before hopping on their bicycles and going on a 3.5 mile ride to the Gathering Place. Once they arrived at the Gathering Place, students enjoyed lunch on The Patio at Williams Lodge and played on the Chapman Adventure Playground. Student also got an ice cream treat at Williams Lodge before returning to their schools.
There are 24 Bike Clubs in Tulsa Public Schools which meet weekly after school. Volunteers teach about bike safety and work with students on their cycling skills in the fall and students participate in off-campus rides and experiences in the spring.
