Navigate360 computer set up

Starting Monday, October 6, Tulsa Public Schools will officially launch the Navigate360 platform districtwide. When visiting any TPS school or building, families and community members will:

  • Check in at a computer kiosk using a government-issued ID.
  • Receive a printed name badge with their photo to wear while inside the building.
  • Check out at the main office or security desk before leaving.

This system will also run a secure check of the National Sex Offender Registry and our own district list of restricted visitors. This helps us quickly and accurately identify who should and should not be in our schools, while also keeping precise records of everyone in our buildings.

We take your privacy seriously. Your ID information will only be used for check-in purposes and will not be shared outside Tulsa Public Schools. Nothing is stored beyond what is required to log entry and exit.

To help you prepare, we have put together a list of frequently asked questions. Please review it before your next visit so you know exactly what to expect.

Questions about Navigate360 and Access to Schools

What counts as a government-issued ID?

  • Acceptable forms of ID include:
    • U.S. State-based Driver’s License
    • U.S. State-based ID Card
    • U.S. Passport
    • U.S. Passport Card
    • Consulate Card (date of birth must also be present in addition to first and last Name)

What happens when I scan my ID into the Navigate360 system?

  • Navigate360 runs a search of the National Sex Offender Registry as well as the list of people who have been banned from TPS campuses. TPS bans are districtwide, not building-specific, so if a person has been banned from one TPS campus, they will not be permitted to enter any other buildings.

What happens if I do not have any form of government-issued ID? Will not having an ID prevent me from visiting my child at school and participating in activities?

  • If a visitor has previously checked in to any campus in the district with an ID, they can have the front desk clerk search the system for their name to verify that they have already been run through the National Sex Offender Registry and TPS banned list.
  • If a visitor has not checked in previously, the front desk clerk can manually check them in by entering their name and date of birth and running a manual search of the National Sex Offender Registry and TPS banned list. Visitors’ photos will also be required for manual entry.

If I don’t have an acceptable ID, how can I volunteer at my child’s school?

  • Volunteers fill out a separate form and participate in a background check process that is separate from Navigate360. Volunteers who have already completed this process and have been approved to volunteer at school sites can be manually added into the system, allowing them to easily check-in as a volunteer upon arrival at the school.

Questions about Data Privacy and Immigration Status Concerns

Does the system share my personal information with immigration authorities (ICE) or any other government agencies? Is my information stored securely, and who has access to it?

  • The Navigate360 visitor management system does not permanently store personal information like driver's license number. Additional Navigate360 privacy protocols can be found on their website here

If I only have a foreign ID or no ID at all, will it affect my child’s ability to attend school?

  • No, it will not affect your ability to enroll your child in Tulsa Public Schools.

Will I still be allowed to pick up my child if I don’t have an acceptable form of ID?

  • Yes. Navigate360 requires that a parent type their name into the system. The office staff present will verify that the parent’s name is in PowerSchool as an individual allowed to pick up the student (s).

Are there alternative ways for me to verify my identity at the school site (for example, being on an approved pick-up list)?

  • Yes. Navigate360 requires that a parent type their name into the system. The office staff present will verify that the parent’s name is in PowerSchool as an individual allowed to pick up the student(s).

Who should I talk to if I need help or if I’m worried about not being able to access my child’s school?

  • Reach out to your child’s school leader.
