Enrollment is open now for 2026-27 Tulsa Teacher Corps, a district-led teacher development and certification program designed to train individuals new to education prior to placement in district classrooms. The deadline to enroll is Friday, May 1, 2026.

Tulsa Teacher Corps is a six-week tuition-free program developed by Tulsa Public Schools that prepares candidates with training and support necessary to become successful classroom teachers. It is tailored to those who earned a degree in another field and who are interested in launching a new career in the classroom. Successful completion of the program, along with meeting district employment requirements, gives candidates eligibility to begin teaching with a full teacher salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Tulsa Teacher Corps offers certification in early childhood, elementary, special education and core secondary subject areas like math, English language arts, and science. The two-year certification pathway provides training, mentorship, and support to help teachers transition to the classroom.

Since its launch, Tulsa Teacher Corps has trained nearly 500 novice teachers, and 136 teachers have earned their standard teaching certificate through the program.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and meet employment requirements of Tulsa Public Schools. Candidates who demonstrate they can lead students to personal, social, and academic success will be prioritized for a teaching job.
