Students in Tulsa Transition Academy created posters to promote inclusive communities and schools.
The class had a great time decorating three posters with images, positive words, and a QR code that directs people to Spread the Word about inclusion. The students and their teachers all made a pledge how they plan to spread inclusion and are encouraging others to do the same.
This project is part of an effort by Special Olympics Unified Sports, which the students participate in, to "foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.” Students complete a challenge each month to work toward that goal.
The Tulsa Grads Special Olympics team consists of current students attending Tulsa Transition Academy as well as former Tulsa Public Schools Special Olympians.
Tulsa Transition Academy is a continuation of school for students who receive special education services in high school. Learn more here.
