Linda Gomez named East Central High School Support Professional of the Year!

Linda joined Team Tulsa in 2019 and has worked as the principal's secretary at East Central for six years. We asked Linda a few questions to learn more about her and her time in Tulsa Public Schools.

What led you to a career in education?

It is easy for me to want to share any of my knowledge to help others. I speak both English and Spanish, and it became easy to work in a place where my role was natural to me. I am a mother of four and understand the need of the families I serve. 

What is your favorite thing about your job? 

Interacting with students, parents, and teachers. 

What is one thing you are passionate about outside of work?

My family, gardening, and watching TV series.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I would like to mention that after my seven years of being at East Central High School I have seen great growth in myself as I went from being a bilingual substitute clerk to secretary of the principal. I have seen many improvements in the school, and it has made it easy to grow alongside it. I am thankful to serve the Cardinal families of my school and believe in the growth of each member -- most importantly the students.
