The Tulsa Regional Chamber Aerospace Council held a meeting at East Central High School on Friday to highlight the school's aerospace program. Students from the program, teacher Dwight Long, Principal Gina Wilson, Superintendent Deborah Gist, and U.S. Representative Kevin Hern joined them for the meeting.
Aerospace Council chair Bailey J Siegfried and the other speakers discussed the opportunities the program would give students, including career-ready skills, hands-on experience, and the chance to earn industry certifications. They also encouraged council members to mentor students, visit their classroom, and fund field trips for them to visit their aerospace companies. The meeting itself was a great networking opportunity for the ninth grade students.
