David Stolz is the 2023-2024 Edison Middle School Teacher of the Year!
David joined Team Tulsa in 2012 and has taught at Edison for four years. He teaches 6th grade advanced English Language Arts and serves as the ELA department chair.
"My journey into education first started while being a summer camp counselor and working with at-risk youth. I was blessed to work with amazing social workers and learned how to connect with individuals who had grown up with a different set of circumstances than myself. I truly believe education is one of the most important tools for a person to be able to open future opportunities later in life."
He said every year brings new challenges and opportunities to grow as a teacher and thanks Kim Dickson and Melissa Bryan for supporting his development as a teacher.
"What I have enjoyed most about this profession is interacting with students and playing a role in making them better academically, socially, and preparing them for the future.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his family and working out.
