Edison Preparatory High School senior Trenton Knauls was honored as the winner of the National Day of Racial Healing Tulsa Public Schools High School Art Contest. His artwork portrays the "tangible weights” African Americans carry and the shared struggle for equality in America. Trenton, along with his art teachers and mentors, emphasize the role of art in fostering meaningful dialogue and change.
The award was presented by Mayor Monroe Nichols, newly announced Deputy Mayor Krystal Reyes, and Superintendent Dr. Ebony Johnson. We would like to extend a huge congratulations to Trenton for using his creativity to inspire healing in the Tulsa community.
