Jamie Dunagan has been selected as the 2023-2024 McClure Elementary Teacher of the Year!

Jamie serves as the music and band director for pre-K through 5th grade. She teaches grade-level music classes, as well as 5th grade band. After school three days a week, Jamie teaches as part of the Harmony Project of Tulsa, where her students focus on choir and learning an instrument.

“I am fortunate to love what I do and share my love for music,” said Jamie.

In her eight years at McClure, Jamie said she has learned and grown so much.

“The most important lesson that Tulsa Public Schools has taught me is the power of relationships with our children. What we do can impact a child forever so being kind and listening is very impactful.”

Jamie is also passionate about music outside of the classroom. She teaches private lessons and plays in the Praise Band at her church. She also loves spending time with her family, friends, and her three dogs.
