Christopher Korolewicz has been selected as the 2023-2024 McLain High School Teacher of the Year!
Christopher has been teaching at McLain since 2021 where he is a special education English teacher. He also serves as McLain's special education department head.
"I was inspired to work in education because of my father and aunt. My father has been teaching for thirty-five years. I saw the joy and enthusiasm that my father had for his job and the impact he had on his students and it made me want to become a teacher," said Christopher. "My aunt was a high school English teacher for thirteen years and, after retiring, spent three years helping adult students get their GED. My aunt would try to instill in people the importance of education and encourage those who had not finished high school to obtain their GED."
He said his favorite part of working in education is interacting with the students.
"I look forward to seeing them every day. Our students at McLain are incredibly talented and dedicated to their education. They have consistently shown to be able to push themselves academically and reach new heights in their academics. Our students have changed my life in ways I could never have imagined and I am grateful to have the opportunity to be their teacher."
Outside of the classroom, Christopher is passionate about music. He plays bass and guitar and writes music in his spare time.
