Students in the leadership class at McLain High School decided they wanted to use their school's spirit week to support the Tulsa Dream Center.
For four days, students set up tables at lunch and hosted members of the Dream Center to share information about summer job and internship opporunities. Students that visited the tables could spin a wheel or donate a $1 to try to win various prizes. Students also organized and hosted a 3v3 basketball tournament after school with six teams.
The leadership students were also told the Dream Center food pantry was running low. Students encouraged their advisory classes to compete with each other to see who could donate the most food items. The winning class won a pool party and second place got donuts from Jam's Donuts.
In total, students donated 560 individual food items and nearly $300!
