Monday, March 27 from 9:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

Tulsa Opera holds Any Given Child performance of “Space Encounters” for 2nd grade students

Lewis and Clark Elementary School, auditorium (737 S. Garnett Rd)

Lewis and Clark Elementary will host 450+ 2nd grade students from ten district schools for a special performance by the Tulsa Opera sponsored by Any Given Child. The Tulsa Opera will perform “Space Encounters,” a show designed for young audiences that invites viewers to sing-along.

Hale students participate in college and career fair

Hale High School (6960 E. 21st St)

Juniors and seniors and Hale High Schools will have a chance to meet with representatives from 70 companies and post-secondary schools to learn about the options available to them after graduation.

Monroe hosts career fair for teachers and school support professionals (click here for flyer)

Monroe Demonstration Academy (2010 E. 48th St. N.)

Principal Rob Kaiser and members of the Monroe team will host a school open house and career fair to give interested community members an opportunity to learn about open positions at the school.

Student-chefs participate in annual Future Chefs cooking competition

Edison Preparatory School, cafeteria (2906 E. 41st St.)

Ten student-chefs ranging from grades 1-4 and representing five schools will participate in the district’s annual Future Chefs event. Students will prepare, plate, and present their signature dish to a panel of guest judges including Chief Learning Officer Ebony Johnson and KOTV News on 6 anchor Dave Davis.

Event Schedule:

  • 4 - 5 p.m.: students preparing and cooking their dishes
  • 5 - 5:30 p.m.: tasting by judges
  • 5:50 - 6 pm.: results and awards presentation

Hoover community invited to Literacy Night and Book Fair

Hoover Elementary School (2327 S. Darlington Ave.)

More than 300 students, families, and community members are expected to attend the school’s Scholastic Book Fair and pop-up market. This community celebration will feature food from  Marshall Family Catering, Brite-Ice Carnival Treats, Schmitt Just Got Real, and The Bayou and live music from local band “Not to Scale.”

East Central hosts annual East Side Vision College and Career Fair

East Central High School (12150 E. 11th St.)

On March 31, the entire East Central High School campus will be transformed into the district’s largest college and career fair, featuring 100+ colleges, technical schools, and employers sharing information and hosting sessions with the school’s 1,000+ students.
