200+ Students to Participate in Farm to School at Webster High School
Webster High School Agricultural Education Building (1919 W. 40th)
On Thursday, March 28, 225 TPS elementary students from Clinton West and Robertson elementary schools will attend the Tulsa Public Schools Child Nutrition Services Farm to School event. The event will take place at Webster High School’s Agricultural Education Building (1919 W. 40th). Students will experience different aspects of agriculture and learn how food gets to their tables here in Oklahoma. Student leaders from the Future Farmer of America program at Tulsa’s Webster High School will guide their elementary-age peers through a series of hands-on, engaging stations and activities.
Partners and activities to include:
- Southwest Dairy Farmers’ Mobile Dairy Classroom with a live cow and milking demonstration;
- Oak Farms Dairy of Oklahoma milk sampling;
- Fresh Point produce tasting and blender bicycles;
- Tulsa Health Department presentation on food deserts and food forestry;
- Tulsa grown produce
- Bee and Pollination station
- OK Ag in the Classroom Instructors present on farming topics

Mock Election at Carver Middle School
Carver Middle School (624 E Oklahoma Pl)
On Wednesday, Carver Middle School students will engage in a school-wide mock election previewing Election Day on November 5, 2024. In social studies classes, students will learn how to fill out voter registration cards, receive a facsimile “voter ID” and cast their ballots for President/Vice President of the United States. Lessons focus on civic engagement and awareness of the voting process (not campaigning for specific candidates), introducing students to voter registration, polling places, and other elements of democratic elections.

Creeps! Fine Arts Showcase at Edison High School (2706 E. 41st)
Edison Preparatory High School’s renowed Fine Arts and Theatre department returns with a new rendition of their annual fall fine arts showcase, Creeps! The showcase features multiple fine arts disciplines with a fall-related theme that’s refreshed each year under the direction of Manilow Award-winning Fine Arts Educator Liza Villareal.
