Memorial Middle School proudly represented Tulsa and the state of Oklahoma at the 2025 International SeaPerch Challenge held at the University of Maryland. This year’s event featured 181 teams from four countries, highlighting the global impact of STEM education and underwater robotics.
Two Memorial Middle School SeaPerch teams—Circuit Breakers 2 (Team 713) and Circuit Breakers 4 (Team 714)—competed in the Middle School Stock Class category. Circuit Breakers 2 achieved an impressive 3rd place finish out of 75 teams, while Circuit Breakers 4 placed 13th, both representing Memorial Middle School with distinction.
Beyond the competition, students had the unique opportunity to explore Washington D.C., visiting historic landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial (where they proudly posed at the Oklahoma pillar), the White House, and other federal buildings. These experiences helped connect classroom history lessons with real-world perspectives.
A major highlight for our students was interacting with fellow participants in the SeaPerch Village sharing team stickers, exchanging stories, and forming lasting connections with students from across the U.S. and abroad. Lunch at the University of Maryland dining hall and touring the campus offered a glimpse into college life, sparking curiosity and future aspirations among our young engineers.
Thank you to the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance and our community sponsors for making this journey possible. Their support has not only propelled our students onto an international stage but has also inspired them to dream bigger and pursue excellence in STEM.
