Kellie Tatum is the 2023-2024 Tulsa Virtual Academy Middle School Teacher of the Year!
Kellie joined Team Tulsa in 2005 and has taught at TVA for four years. She is the middle school lead teacher and teaches all of the middle school math classes. She is also the 6th grade advisory teacher.
"This is my 18th year teaching for TPS. I absolutely love teaching math. A lot of students are intimidated by math class. They come into class dreading it. My favorite thing to hear is when my students say that they love math class now and I can see the light go on in their heads when we are working on a concept and they really understand it. They gain a new level of self confidence and it makes my day!"
Outside of work, Kellie loves spending time with family and friends, watching her daughter play volleyball, playing with her dogs, and growing flowers in the summer.
