Sistema Tulsa has launched their first satellite location at Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy. Sistema Tulsa promotes and builds musical ensembles to help children achieve a sense of belonging, confidence, responsibility, and intellectual growth.
"The staff and faculty of Sistema Tulsa will encourage your students and nurture them and challenge them and they'll mentor to grow. Of course, grow as musicians, but additionally Sistema will focus and help each participant learn how to be a citizen, how to learn and respect each other, communicate well, problem solve, deal with conflicts through dialogue, and also be strong leaders," said Dr. Joel Panciera, founding member on the Sistema advisory board.
Students in the satellite program will meet twice a week after school at Tisdale. They will also meet at the Sistema hub at Boston Avenue Church monthly to rehearse for two concerts with students from 20 other schools.
"I guarantee you have lots of amazing concerts in your future," said Joel.
Tisdale students have brand new instruments to use for this program thanks to the bond passed by Tulsans.
