Morgann Robertson is the 2025-2025 Will Rogers College Middle School Teacher of the Year!

Morgann started teaching 7th and 8th grade English language arts at Rogers in 2024. We asked her a few questions to learn more about her and her time in Tulsa Public Schools.

What led you to a career in education?

My passion for education came from the amazing educators that came before me. Whether that was my parents teaching me at home or teachers like Ms. Bundy and Ms. Gilman in the classroom, teachers have shaped me into who I am and I can only hope to be a guiding light in a student’s life like these people were for me.

What is your favorite thing about your work?

Can I say all of it? First, these kids are amazing! I can’t believe I get to show up and teach them every day. Lesson planning is so fun too, getting to work with what I am given to make something that my kids will enjoy is so life giving. My admin team and all my co-workers are amazing as well. Overall, I just feel very blessed to get to show up and work with the people I work with and teach the kids I get to teach at the school that I get to work at! Teaching is hard but so so so rewarding.

What is one thing you are passionate about outside of teaching?

Outside of teaching I am very passionate about my faith, my family, and my friends. Because I receive so much love, grace, kindness, and compassion I can give it out freely to my students!

Is there anything else you would like to share?

If you ask anyone I know they will tell you how much I love to teach. You can call it the honeymoon phase if you want but I love my job and my team. I love waking up and coming to work every day.
