How do I obtain my child’s reading proficiency score for the Oklahoma Department of Motor Vehicles (Driver’s Permit/License)?
A letter verifying 8th grade reading proficiency and enrollment according to state law can be obtained in person at:
Tulsa Public Schools Enrollment Center

This letter cannot be faxed. The student's legal guardian must be present and bring ID to obtain the letter. There is a charge of $2 for the letter.

Can my student retake the 8th grade reading test?
The 8th-grade reading test will given at the Tulsa Public Schools Enrollment Center, 2819 S. New Haven Ave., Tulsa OK 74114 at 9 a.m. on the following dates:
- September 14, 2018
- December 7, 2018
- February 28, 2019
- June 14, 2019
Please call 918-746-6473 to sign-up for the test (space is limited). Students who are over the age of 18 do not need this letter to obtain an Oklahoma Driver Permit/License.
