Early Childhood Parent Council

The only requirements for joining the council are that you have a child in pre-K or kindergarten at Tulsa Public Schools and are willing to attend monthly meetings to provide input and feedback about early childhood education programs.

The Early Childhood Parent Council meetings will start in September.

Parent Council meetings will occur once a month and will last approximately 1 hour.

You are encouraged to attend every meeting. However, it is a requirement that you attend a minimum of 6 out of the 10 meetings per year.

We ask that you commit to being a part of the council for a minimum of 1 year. Then, you will have the option to remain on the council for an additional year.

You will not be paid for being on the council. It is a volunteer position, but includes resources and incentives to alleviate any cost you might acquire while participating.

We ask that children do not attend the meetings, so parents and guardians can focus their attention on the meeting. However, you can bring your child with you and there will be childcare provided to council members while they attend the meeting.

We will provide dinner at every meeting for parent council members and their children at no cost.

We have a few different resources available to support families with transportation to and from the meetings. Please apply and let us know if you have transportation needs.

Yes, translators are present at parent council meetings. We will always do our best to accommodate any language or other support services you might need.
