Earn

Get paid!

Many interns are able to find paid opportunities. You also have the option to earn elective credits for your high school transcript.

What is an internship

An internship is job specifically for students. It's a chance for students to learn and gain experience in a field they are interested in, like working with animals or computers. Students go to a company or organization, and the employees teach them things and students help them with tasks. It's a sneak peek into what a real job in that area is like. Plus, it looks great on a resume for future jobs or college! Students should contact their high school counselor, college and career advisor, or internship coordinator for the most up-to-date information and to get connected to the right opportunities.

Who can participate

High school juniors and seniors who are at least 16 years of age and caught up on credits can participate in an internship experience.

Information for Employers

Tulsa Public Schools works with the local business and non-profit community to design meaningful professional positions for high school seniors. By working alongside workers in a specific industry, students preview their future and gain increased enthusiasm for a career. This valuable experience assists them in acquiring many of the skills and occupational expertise needed in their field of interest. Through this program, interns become more focused on their careers, as well as their postsecondary lives.

We are always looking for new intern hosts!

  • Are you a business or organization with three or more employees?
  • Are you located in the Tulsa area?
  • Are you willing to host an unpaid or paid high school intern for 4-8 hours a week?

We invite you to post your internship position with our internship coordinator. Please reach out to Patricia Scott to discuss specifics.
