Memorial HS Pitcher winding up

The primary purpose of our secondary schools is to academically prepare students for graduation so they become productive citizens. However, Tulsa Public Schools is aware of the important role interscholastic athletics play in the development of students. Therefore, a great emphasis is placed on the educational, social and personal welfare of students who participate in athletics.

All TPS secondary schools are members of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association and must follow rules and policies that have been established by the OSSAA. This includes academic and residential eligibility requirements. To be eligible to participate in any TPS athletic program, a physical and medical history form must be completed, as well as, a participation, consent and concussion form must be electronically signed and submitted. A student cannot practice or participate without completed, signed and submitted forms. Visit RankOne for the required forms.

Athletic Re-entry (Update)

August 3, 2020
The Tulsa Public Schools is committed to provide athletics programming this school year as the health status of the district and county will allow. Middle school and high school sports will begin during the first semester as usual with some restrictions. Normal high school sports will be sponsored and middle school will expand. Middle school sports this year will include: football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, wrestling, swimming at Thoreau, Carver, Memorial and Monroe, track and soccer.

During the first 9 weeks period all middle school athletics will be held after the school day is concluded. High school program will be during the 7th hour or immediately following the schools day. Given distance learning will prevail during the first 9 weeks schedules will need to be flexible and communication with your local school will be very important.

These are trying times so we want to provide as normal of experience as possible for our student athletes. Our coaches and site athletics directors have worked hard to make this happen and we want to support them and our student athletes so that they can have a great athletics experience this school year!
