Use the Federal Programs and Special Projects' phone number (918-746-6250) when listing the "official applicant." Use the school/program contact information for the Grant Manager.  

The official applicant for all grants is Tulsa Public Schools. If helpful, you may expand this to include your school or department name. For example:  Tulsa Public Schools - ABC Elementary School.

The grant manager is the individual responsible for overseeing and/or implementing all aspects of the grant, the primary contact with the grantor and TPS Federal Programs and Special Projects Team, and is responsible for all required reports to the grantor.

If you need a letter of support from the Superintendent to attach to your grant application, please contact the Assistant Director of Grant Compliance, no less than 2 weeks prior to your deadline, with the following information:

1) Complete Intent to Apply Form (if applying as part of TPS)
2) Date you need the letter
3) Full name and address to which the letter should be addressed
4) Draft of the letter
5) Information about the grant and/or a copy of the application

The Board President is the only individual legally authorized to sign contracts, grant agreements, MOUs (memorandum of understanding), or any other legal document on behalf of the district. 

Administrators, principals, teachers, staff, volunteers, parents, and community partners are NOT authorized to sign legal documents.

If you receive a contract, grant agreement, or MOU as a part of your grant please take the following steps:

1. read it carefully to ensure it reflects your grant proposal and the terms are acceptable,
2. submit a copy to the Assistant Director of Grant Compliance for review,
3. when notified by the Assistant Director of Grant Compliance, contact your supervisor to begin the process of submitting the contract, grant agreement, or MOU to the Board agenda for approval.  The Board approval process typically takes 6-8 weeks.

Grant recipients MAY NEVER open separate bank accounts for grants or deposit grant checks to a student activity or revolving account. 

All gifts or donations to schools, whether they are from parents, local businesses, community organizations, or other groups must be reported to the district. Large gifts must be formally accepted by the Board of Education.

Financial and program reports are the responsibility of the Grant Manager. The assigned Budget Analyst from Federal Programs and Special Projects will assist with aspects of the financial reporting.
