Webster team and community members shovel dirt to break ground on the new band room and greenhouse

Students, team members, and community members celebrated the groundbreaking for the school's new band classroom and new greenhouse, both funded by the 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools.

Board President Stacey Woolley said during the ceremony: "With the projects we are breaking ground on today, our band and orchestra students will have more designated space to participate in music programs, and the school's agricultural education program will be modernized with state-of-the-art aquaponic and hydroponic greenhouse facilities. Many thanks to all the Tulsans who overwhelming voted yes to ensuring that the future generations are set up for success here on the west side of Tulsa and throughout Tulsa."

Principal Shelly Holman, Superintendent Deborah Gist, and Webster student Clara Lopez also spoke at the ceremony. Agriculture teachers Erica Goodson and Keith Wiley, Webster alumni, Citizen Bond Oversight Committee member Niki Grauberger, architects, construction managers, and bond team members attended the groundbreaking. The Webster band performed for the attendees, led by Penny Davis and Elaine Lancaster.
