Students, teachers, and families celebrated the opening of their new outdoor classroom with a ribbon cutting!
The idea for the outdoor learning space was spurred in 2018 and officially broke ground in September 2022. The project is partly funded by the 2021 Bond for Tulsa Public Schools.
The new space features pollinator and sensory gardens, a sun dial, and an outdoor STEM classroom.
Research shows there are many benefits for children learning outdoors! It promotes creativity and problem solving, cultivates personal responsibility, and can even lower stress.
Speakers from the school, Up With Trees, and the district came together for the special event thanking numerous people who helped bring the vision to life.
Congratulations Zarrow International and thank you Tulsa for approving the bond!
