Tulsa Public Schools Enrollment Preferences
Neighborhood schools Pre-K-12th grade:
- Preferences are awarded in the following order:
- Neighborhood students have a guaranteed seat
- Students whose guardian (s) work at that school
- Students with siblings already attending the school
- Students whose guardian(s) work for Tulsa Public Schools Neighborhood schools
6th-12th grade at a single campus for transitional grades
- Preferences are awarded in the following order:
- Neighborhood students have a guaranteed seat
- Students whose guardian (s) work at that school
- Students with siblings already attending the school (with or without a current transfer)
- Current students (with or without a current transfer)
- Students whose guardian(s) work for Tulsa Public Schools
Charter Schools:
- Students with siblings already attending the school
- Academic Enterprise Zone (College Bound Academy, KIPP)
Magnet Schools:
Kindergarten-5th Grade Elementary Lottery schools (Mayo, Zarrow, Eisenhower, Mendez) – within each quadrant:
- Students with siblings and who entered during or after the 2018-2019 school year have a preference if: during the year in which the younger sibling will be enrolled the older sibling will still be a student at the school
- Students with siblings and who entered prior to or during the 2017-2018 school year have a guarantee if: during the year in which the younger sibling will be enrolled the older sibling will still be a student at the school
- Out of district siblings do not have preference.
Middle School Lottery schools:
- Thoreau Middle School
- Applicants who attend an elementary lottery magnet school
- Rogers Middle School
- Applicants who attend Kendall Whittier ES or Sequoyah ES
- Middle School Criteria (Carver Middle School, Edison Middle School)
- Carver MS special condition – any eligible applicant who resides in the historical Booker T. Washington school area and meets the criteria has preference
- Edison Middle School Criteria Magnet Program – no preferences
High School Criteria Schools (Booker T. Washington High School, Edison High School, and Tulsa Engineering Academy Magnet at Memorial High School):
- Booker T. Washington High School special conditions
- any eligible applicant who resides in the historical Booker T. Washington High School area and meets the criteria has preference
- any eligible applicant who attends Carver MS and meets the criteria has preference
- Edison High School Criteria Magnet Program special condition – any eligible applicant who attends Edison Middle School and meets the criteria has preference
High School lottery (Rogers High School):
- Eligible applicants attending Rogers Middle School have preference
Sibling definition: A sibling is defined as children who reside at the same address or have a legal document that specifies a split residence and who share at least one common biological or legal parent whether through natural or adoptive means, including biological siblings that share parents; half siblings that share a single parent; step siblings that share a parent or parents through marriage; children who share a parent or parents through adoption or guardianship; and foster children awaiting permanent placement.
