All scholars can learn at Peary Elementary! Through high expectations and the cooperation of scholars, parents, and the community, we appreciate and accommodate the diversity of our scholars as we provide a safe and nurturing environment, scholars will be empowered to be life-long learners.
A Neighborhood Staple
Located in the Magic Circle neighborhood, Peary is a focal point of this long-standing community and one of the fastest growing schools in the district. Many generations of neighbors have attended here to learn from our teachers.
Educating the Whole Child
Creating high-quality learning experiences means educating the whole child by meeting their social, emotional, and academic needs. With strong social and emotional skills, our scholars will be able to set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
Family Engagement
We value the opportunity to engage with our Peary families and community, and we never want language to be a barrier. Bilingual staff, as well as our parent involvement facilitator, ensure non-English speaking families feel connected through interpretation and translated newsletters, emails, and letters, in addition to being on call to answer any questions. Our English language development teachers provide additional support for non-English speaking scholars, both one-on-one and inside the classroom. We also participate in the Food for Kids Backpack Program, which provides nutritious, kid-friendly food for our scholars to take home Fridays after school.
