World language instruction at the secondary level is key to setting up students for success in their future. Effective world language instruction provides students with the skills and knowledge to communicate in the real world, allows them to make connections with others, and enhances their understanding of their native language. Unlike dual language or immersion models which focus on teaching various subjects in the target language, world language courses focus primarily on teaching the target language itself.
