The English Learner Parent Advisory Council (ELPAC) provides an opportunity for parents of English learner students in Tulsa Public Schools to share opinions, thoughts, and concerns with the district on issues and interests related to English learners in the district.
ELPAC members serve as an advisory and provide the district with feedback and insight from the parent’s perspective on processes, programs and initiatives to ensure that the needs of English learner students and their families are included as decisions are made in the district.
ELPAC members meet with district teams on the last Thursday of every month from 5:30 - 6:30pm. All parents of English learner students enrolled in Tulsa Public Schools are invited to attend the ELPAC meetings.
PURPOSE
- To advise and provide the district with feedback an insight in matters related to English Learners students in Tulsa Public Schools.
- To empower parents and build their capacity to advocate and be actively engaged in their child’s education.
- To support the academic success of EL students.
- To help build strong relationships between parents of EL students and the district.
