Welcome to Skelly!

At Skelly Elementary, all our students experience learning through high expectations, mutual respect, celebrations of achievements, and authentic communication. We ensure equity of access to high quality instruction and learning experiences that will prepare students to achieve their goals for college and careers.

DUAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL

We provide a one-way dual language program for native Spanish-speaking students to gain fluency and literacy in English and Spanish. Our students go beyond learning another language and learn about other cultures. Students first learn to read in their dominant language, then they spend equal amounts of time building literacy in English and Spanish. Students build fluency in both languages through their daily interactions with peers and teachers. Focus on the whole child

Through various social/emotional learning practices, our teachers help students identify their emotions and utilize self-regulation skills. In addition, our on-site school counselors go into classes to teach students about developing healthy friendships, managing their feelings, and identifying the appropriate actions to take when there are issues. With strong social and emotional skills, our students set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Here at Skelly we offer various after school programs throughout the year to provide enrichment opportunities for students. These opportunities include Bike Club, Cooking Club, Art Club, Choir, Dance Club, and more.
