Welcome to Key Elementary!
At Key, our faculty and staff are committed to providing a quality learning experience for every child, every day. We strive to utilize effective and current teaching and engagement strategies to enable all students to achieve academic and social success and become productive citizens. We work with numerous community and business partners to provide individualized time and enrichment to our students. Our students focus on the life skills of Key Chargers:

Empowering Students
Throughout the year, we host assemblies and programs to help students visualize their academic future. This includes visits from Memorial High School scholar-athletes, who provide encouragement and role-modeling for our students. Other programs celebrate the heritage of different cultures, such as the Casa de la Cultura music program hosted during Hispanic Heritage Month. Every month, students are recognized individually as students of the month and as a class of the month, based on their demonstration of essential life skills such as responsibility. Students are also recognized for their attendance with weekly and monthly incentives.
English language learners
We provide targeted support for students who are learning English as a second language. Our goal is to provide them with the instruction and supports to make them comfortable learning to speak, listen, read, and write in English. Our approach is to value the native language skills that students bring with them to learning, capitalizing on the benefits of multilinguality for the students and the community at large.

Meet our principal
Enrichment Programs
As part of our enrichment programming, we offer field trips to locations such as The Gathering Place, Discovery Lab, Philbrook Museum of Art, and Crystal Bridges. These experiences are led by Key teachers to provide hands-on, engaging learning to our students.
