At Memorial Junior High School, we use a blended learning model, a student-centered approach to instruction that uses online learning giving students control over the pace and path they take toward their learning goals.

In addition to more traditional classroom instruction, students participate in independent learning tasks, small group activities, and individual tutoring. Through this program called INCharge, Memorial Junior High students move at their own pace, using in-class supports, web-based videos and digital articles, and teacher resources to develop their learning.

Our students make great strides in their learning as we focus on how they learn best. Our students have access to tablets to use both during the school day and at home as they continue their learning outside of school time.

Robotics

Our afterschool robotics program provides students with hands on learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Robotics gives students the opportunity to use their knowledge and imagination to dream big and create something new. With 3D modeling and computer-aided design, our students build drones, underwater robots, quad-flyers, and more.

AT Memorial Junior HIGH SCHOOL, STUDENTS CAN:

  • Engage in self-paced, self-directed learning in 21st century classrooms;
  • Work with their teachers and peers to develop content mastery in their learning programs; and
  • Learn and grow in a forward-thinking school community that is using technology to transform teaching and learning.

I am given the chance to experience, play, and be immersed in a diverse learning environment. I was able to participate in the robotics club which gets me ready for my future. I know I want to do something in engineering, like building planes or designing something for the world to use. Here I get to design, model, build drones, and use a 3D printer. My experience at Memorial Junior High has prepared me for that future.Memorial Junior High School alumnus
