After Learning Program

Our After Learning program provides weekday outside-of-school-time care for students in grades pre-K-5. In the 2022-2023 school year, After Learning runs until 6pm and will be available at 20 schools.

Students in After Learning receive:

High-quality care for pre-K through 5th grade students Monday-Friday until 6pm
Support with homework assignments and activities that reinforce school-day learning
Opportunities to enjoy fun activities with their peers
Nutritious afternoon snacks

Tribal subsidies

Cherokee Nation:

Subsidy provides financial assistance with child care payments. Parents who are working, going to school, attending job-training programs, or are in need of protective services may be eligible to receive this service.

To participate in the Muscogee Nation’s Office of Child Care Subsidy Program the parent(s)/guardians must be working, training, or enrolled in an education program.

The Osage Nation Child Care Program provides low-income Native American families with child care assistance and aids families in finding quality child care providers that are licensed through the State of Oklahoma DHS and by the Osage Nation Child Care Program.

DHS Subsidies

The Oklahoma Human Services (DHS) Child Care Subsidy program helps ensure trained supervision, nutrition, and education for children while their parents or caregivers are at work, in training, or receiving an education. If eligible, DHS will pay all or part of your childcare costs.

How to Register

How to Register

Enrollment for After Learning in the 2022-2023 school year is first-come, first-served with priority given to students enrolled in After Learning in the 2021-2022 school year, sibling groups, and children of Tulsa Public Schools team members. You will receive communication via email regarding your enrollment status starting the week of July 5.

All registration must be done through SmartChoice.

Step 1: Register by logging into SmartChoice at enroll.tulsaschools.org. Before you begin, make sure you have the student ID number (lunch number) for each child you would like to enroll.

Once you are logged into SmartChoice follow these steps:

Step 2: If your child is already linked to your account (bottom of page) you can select the student, click on the “Back to School Form" tab, and then click “Click Here To Start” button.

Step 3: If your child is not yet linked to your account (name does not appear in the linked student’s section), click on the “Back to School Form” button in orange to continue.

From there click on the “Back To School” button once more.

Answer yes to i.1 and i.3 and enter your student’s ID Number (e.g. lunch number), first and last name as it appears on the birth certificate, and date of birth. If match is not made, please check with your school or the Tulsa Public Schools enrollment center.

Step 4: Answer the required questions on each of the form’s steps.

Step 5: If After Learning programming is available at your school site and you wish to register, you will be asked to read and verify that you understand the terms of the programming.

Step 6: Verify all your information is correct and click "submit my form".

Once programs are at capacity, families will be added to a waitlist. We will monitor and update this list daily. You will receive communication via email regarding your enrollment status starting the week of July 5.

Frequently asked questions

Full-Day break-week Camps

During the 2022-2023 school year, full-day programs will be available for all students when school is not in session during fall break and spring break. Priority is given to students enrolled in After Learning. Full day programs may be provided at an alternate school site.
